Sample Thesis Paper

The consequences of the lifting of the 27 year old ban on of shore oil rigging has been seen to have had a lasting gruesome impact not only on the lives of various families who have lost relatives in the Deepwater Horizon, a giant so-called safe rig erected near Louisiana exploded and sank, killing eleven crewmen and leaving a devastating blow on the ecological system on April 10, 2010.

Therefore, paving the argument that no matter how many safety checks and regulations are put up, the price is still too high to pay to continue with off-shore oil rigging, and the moratorium should be called back by the Congress and alternative fuel resources should be discovered, which the leading argument of the paper is also.

Oil rigging accidents have become an almost common sight in the recent years, from 2006 to 2010, in the Gulf of Mexico, more than 40 people have lost their lives and thirteen hundred people have been seriously injured, and this too only counts the federal statistics of drilling on land, whereas, from 2001 to 2010, 69 people have been known to have been killed in accidents, and a thousand or some more harmed grievously while drilling off shore. It has been seen that the recent Deepwater Horizon accident has left its mark on the ecological system along with taking many lives. Other than the damage worth billions of dollars that was caused, the oil spill continues to leak further, spilling out more than 12000 to 19000 barrels a day and then some.
