Essay: Story of Misery in Roman Fever

Sample Essay

The positivistic side of the story was that both women gave birth to daughters, who they looked after which showed that they possessed the ability of selfless love. It was the duality of darkness that destroyed their lives to a degree so precarious that they spent it living in the self induced misery of jealousy, anxiety at being found out and the tapestries of deception that they wove.

The main theme of these stories is that both of them relate to abject misery. In both stories the lead characters fight for their own happiness and wants and needs, and they resort to underhand schemes like deception, but in the end all they achieve from life is their own unhappiness and ultimate misery of their own and whatever is left falls prey to a guilty conscious.
