With regards to Global Warming; it is described as the combined adverse implications of greenhouse gases and other factors that are causing a very slow, but steady increase in the Earth’s temperature (Brechin). The term Global Warming is generally used to describe the negative effects of this slow and steady increase in global temperature. An increase in greenhouse gases also causes the carbon dioxide to increase in the air, resulting in the increase in the frequency of acid rain. The president of the Heinz Center for Science, Economics, and the Environment; and founder of the term biological diversity, Dr. Thomas Eugene Lovejoy III, considers acid rains to be an integral part of the equation. He considers that acid rains can be adequately expected to have adverse impacts on nature and they are seriously undermined in terms of their role in the increase of the pH levels in oceans. This can be trusted to contribute to acid rains that are harmful for rainforests (Lovejoy).

Julie Kerr Casper PhD is a well-known researcher and author of many books on environment. Dr. Julie Casper maintains that Global Warming is indeed taking place and presents the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2006 and 2007 as proof that it is occurring as a result of human activities. The development of this carbonic acid will have negative implications on the future of marine life as well. The impact on marine life is important because the Amazon houses numerous aquatic species.
