A strategic choice was done and this indicated that Tesco has comprehensively utilized the Ansoff matrix in its operations since inception. Evidence has been provided for market penetration, product development, market development and diversification. A P.E.S.T Analysis was conducted in order to establish how the political, economic, social and technological factors influence the day to day running of Tesco. It was discovered that the company has no control over these factors even though they affect the core of the business.
Lastly, the opportunities for new product development were discussed. This section was to explain the requirements for the production of a new product. It then narrowed down on Tesco give the possible avenues that the company can follow in order to successfully come up with a new product.
