United Kingdom has over the years become an international hub for international students. These students come from far and wide to come and realize their dreams of academic excellence. It goes without saying that since theses students spend a lot in this pursuit, it is only fair that they get what they deserve. However, cultural shock has had a major impact on the quality of life of these students and in most cases contributed significantly to poor academic performance.

Therefore, this paper will be useful to the UK higher education authorities as at will facilitate the drafting or amendment of a policy document on international students. It will also be beneficial to the International students as it gives a deeper insight into the topic.

The main objective of this study is to establish the effects of cultural shock on international students in the UK, paying particular attention to the studies that have been previous conducted and the available evidence on this topic.
