The modern day scenario in terms of family health has evolved to a phase where a family’s health is more or less an equation of the choices that the family makes for sustenance of its health (Carpenito-Moyet, 2007). In this regard, any deterioration in the health of the family or in the health of a unit of the family can be dealt with by assessing the internal healthcare infrastructure that the family implements and can be addressed to seek out any variables that may be causing the imbalance.
This paper shall build upon an interview of the family that was carried out in person in which the family was asked questions pertaining to each of the eleven functional health patterns. The questions asked were asked in the form of an interview of sorts to keep the questions as open ended as possible to allow the members to express themselves as effectively as possible (Kvale, Interviews: An Introduction to Qualitative Research Interviewing, 1996). Questions asked in the health assessment included those that were based on the perception that the family held with regard to health, the significance of fundamental elements such as nutrition, sleep and exercise, and the role between coping and self-perception. The paper was formed once the answers acquired in the interview had been collected and the data was then analyzed to find nursing diagnoses that existed in the health of the family.
