In general, it seems that nurses do not to really care about the patient’s needs. An example is Pressure area care, emotional needs, or personal hygiene needs. They care more about routine observation’s like blood pressure temperature and drug administration.
In other words nurses are task oriented and caring is not “central to nursing”. And I believe nurses should be forming a humanistic-altruistic value system. For quality management, nurses have to beyond the bare minimum, break down the intra professional boundaries as suggested by Powella, involve other specialists in teamwork as per O’Neill and Cowman and have the highest standards of leadership and quality of care to the community
