The carbonated drink that is now famous by the name of Coke was invented in Columbus, Georgia at a drugstore by John Pemberton in 1885. From the very beginning, Coca Cola seemed to be a brand that was destined to be subjected to heavy diversification. This can be inferred from the fact that within three years of its invention, there were three different varieties of the product that were being sold and investors were lining up to become a part of what looked like a promising venture. Within fifty years of the development of the product, the beverage had become a national icon for America and anybody could tell that it was only a matter of time until it took over the world’s beverage market. The Coca Cola Company was founded in 1886. The Coca Cola brand is one that holds a large number of products under its umbrella. The ranges of products that Coca Cola offers are all beverages and are marketed across the world. The nature of the beverages that fall under Coca Cola’s umbrella range from flat drink, to carbonated drinks, to juices, to drinking water.
