A modern day perception with regard to change management in an organization holds that organizational change is of the utmost importance in consideration of the fact that unless organizational change takes place, an organization can expect to be taken over if it has not already just been taken over (Duck, 2002). What comes forth as even more essential in this regard is the fact that change management is often misdirected as a result of a fault in the leading ranks of the change.
In cases such as these, the concept behind the change is not only poorly communicated but the positive implications of the change are directed towards the instigators of the change rather than upon the organization. In scenarios such as these, the leaders of the change can experience a rapid decrease in approval of the change amongst the employees, which may lead to a complete disapproval of the change plan across the workforce.
