The money raised is expected to meet the operational and managerial costs of the project at the headquarters. These funds are later granted to the partners. Besides, the project receives a lot of support from the well wishers and institutions committed towards enhancing biodiversity conservation.
There are various risks that limit the sustainability of MSBP. Lack of continued government financial support that amounts to absence of political will is a risk that has impeded progress in the project. To salvage only 10% of the world’s flora through the establishment of partners, the MSBP financial budget amounting to about £50 million will be required. This is a huge budget that requires more resources than received from the sale of seedlings (Perrow and Davy, 227). More sources of finances will need to be identified for the project to be sustainable.
