The reason because of which organizations are opting to developing and implementing models is because a model allows for the establishment for better understanding of a system that would otherwise enter into a spiral that would lead to an increase in the degree of complexity as time goes by. It is for the same reason that more than one model alone is often used by organizations to develop a better understanding of the interaction between the internal and external elements that influence the functioning of the organization (Brooks, 2001).
Factors that hold relevance when a scientific model is being designed or studied include simulation, structure and visualization. However, the numbers of types of models that are brought into use in the modern day world of modeling are equivalent to the number of applications that models are used for. It is for the same reason that models are used to study phenomenon ranging from ecological to economical to behavioral. This also explains why models are relatable to almost every platform that their area of application requires them to be related to.
