Generally, the internet is considered to be a highly favored and frequently adopted selection method. The preference for the internet as a selection method has fueled the development of numerous software designed to assist an organization with its Human Resource responsibilities with regard to recruitment and selection activities. Data is acquired from the internet and is often stored in databases to fuel latent demand. However, it is important to note that a majority of organizations generally choose to make use of the internet in order to recruit and select external candidates for managerial or professional level positions.
The internet is less frequently considered as a source for lower level and labor level employees. For employees such as these, organizations generally choose to make use of government agencies or employment agencies. Also, the recruitment of lower managerial level positions has evolved into an established norm where all interns and trainees are now generally taken to be fresh college graduates.
