Sample Thesis Paper
In this paper, a yardstick report has been presented by comparing two of the latest articles from internet based periodicals. The two articles will be analyzed for their legitimacy and their stance regarding the subject. The chosen articles are on the subject of the recent bonuses that AIG (American International Group) has given to its executives. The bonuses amounts to a staggering $165 million and government based financial bodies have taken notice of this particular channeling of the tax payer’s money. The two new sources chosen for the purpose of developing this yardstick report were Times Online and CBS News.Times Online states that it is the Chairman and Chief Executive of AIG, Edward Liddy, who is being held accountable for this exceptional channeling of funds. However, Times Online also states Liddy’s point of view and quotes the argument that Liddy presented as justification of AIG’s action. Times Online seemed to develop its case using related accounts such as the recent restructuring of the bonus system that AIG exercises (Seib, 2009). Similarly related accounts that Times Online mentioned in order to strengthen the story included the investigation held by the Serious Fraud Office regarding speculations of criminal activity in the Mayfair branch of the bank. The story also takes support of official documentation.
